How we work
You are making decisions at a difficult time. You are entitled to know exactly where our information comes from and how we are paid.
Where our prices come from
UK funeral directors are required to publish a standardised price list. We collect those published lists, extract the figures, and record where each one came from and when.
Every price on this site shows its source, the provider's own wording where we have it, and the date we last checked it. If a price is more than twelve months old, we say so instead of quietly presenting it as current.
How prices are checked
A price list is read once by software and then reviewed by a person before it is published. Nothing produced only by automated extraction is shown to you.
Providers can claim their profile and confirm or correct their prices. When they do, we mark the price as verified by the provider and record the date.
How providers are ranked
We rank providers based on what matters to you, including your location, the type of funeral you're looking for, relevant services and available published pricing.
Providers cannot pay to rank higher. Any commercial relationship with Evernext has no influence on the order of organic results.
Where we have a commercial relationship with a provider, we'll clearly disclose this on their profile and wherever they appear in comparison results.
You can also see why each provider has been shown to you, so you understand what influenced the result. A provider with no published price is treated as unknown, not expensive.
How we make money
Some providers pay us a flat fee to receive enquiries from people who have explicitly chosen to contact them. We may also charge providers for verified profile tools.
We do not take a percentage of what you spend, and we are never paid more if you choose a more expensive funeral.
What we will never do
We will never invent a price, a review, a rating or a saving. We will never pass your details to a provider unless you have explicitly asked us to. We will never use countdowns, scarcity or pressure of any kind.
Where we do not have information, we say so rather than filling the gap with an estimate that looks like a fact.
