Using Tell Us Once

The registrar will normally give you a Tell Us Once reference. It saves a great deal of repeated phone calls.

What it covers

Most central and local government services are notified for you.

HM Revenue and Customs
Department for Work and Pensions
DVLA and the Passport Office
The local council: council tax, blue badge, libraries, housing
Some public sector pension schemes

What it does not cover

Banks, building societies, insurers, private pensions, utilities, mobile phone contracts, subscriptions and landlords all need contacting separately.
